Hi folks and welcome to my about me page. Let me formally introduce myself as Anastasia Begemot and give you some brief history about The Local Nag. About a year ago around this time, my sister and I had decided to start a blog because I love to write and she loves make up and clothes, so why not start a blog, it’ll be fun right? About 8 months into our blog, I grew slightly tired writing about “fashion” and how awesome the pajama trend is (what the hell? who came up with that crap and why in gods name was it ever a trend?) and like every blogger says “you need to enjoy blogging or you will never succeed”. Well, I started to not enjoy our blog because I wasn’t passionate about what I was writing. I enjoyed the writing part, but it just all seemed so phony. A great way to attract traffic to your blog is to comment on other blogs or comment back, etc and so we did. What bothered me most is that a lot of these bloggers came off as phony to me. All they cared about was their blog (which is fine), but they didn’t care at all to read about what I had to say. Most, if not all, of the comments consisted of:

  1. “OMG your pics are so goood!!!!”
  2. “What awesome advice! I am totally going to have to try that!

or my favorite…

3. “Great post!”

And our blog was pretty darn good if I must say so myself, it’s just that people didn’t care. I once wrote in the middle of a blog post “please write- I slipped on a banana peel today- in the comments section if you actually read this post”. Mmmmm pretty sure nobody slipped on a banana peel in the comments section that day. That’s when I decided that an online community like that wasn’t for me.

And that is how The Local Nag came to mind. I still wanted to write, but I didn’t want to rant about the latest fall lip color, honestly…I just wanted to write about what was on my mind. My thoughts race at the speed of light and I kind of wanted to put those thoughts onto paper (or online for the sake of this argument). I wanted to write just to write. The right to write.

I am a high energy, impulsive, spontaneous, and SEVERELY sarcastic human. I just want to entertain my readers with my sense of humor and honesty. I want to write about how much work sucked today, how big of a twat the bar tender was last Friday, and how ignorant customers are at retail stores (CUSTOMERS LAST- should be the slogan of every company going forward). I want you to want to read my blog and actually enjoy it and laugh out loud to it. I decided that The Local Nag would be a sanctuary for the things I sometimes cannot say out loud. I wanted to write a blog that was for me, and not for the amount of traffic it drew in or the number of comments. I couldn’t care less about that stuff.

I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts as much as I enjoy writing them. Complaints are always welcome here.
